Potential development budget of Mariupol for 2019 is almost UAH 3 bln

During the XXXVIIl session of Mariupol City Council, the deputies have supported the draft decision ‘On the Program of Economic and Social Development of Mariupol for 2019’. According to it, the potential budget for the development of the city in the next year will be UAH 2 billion 828 million.

The budget for the development of Mariupol for 2019 is in the amount of UAH 1 billion 145 million. The expected revenues of 2019 are not taken into account  which include additional funding due to carry-over balances and revenue growth, loan funds and contributions from the state budget. After their receipt, by the end of 2019, it is expected that the development budget will be UAH 2 billion 225 million.

It is expected to receive a loan from the European Investment Bank for the implementation of the Gorsvet project. As well as financing by the French Ministry of Finance, a project is aimed at providing the city with clean water. The total cost of these projects is more than UAH 260 million. Accordingly, the potential budget for the development of Mariupol could reach UAH 2 billion 828 million,’ Yevgeniy Bodiagin, the Director of the Economic Department, said during the report.

Development budget funds will be directed to key areas of city activity. Thus, UAH 326 million will be allocated for road infrastructure, the development of housing and utilities infrastructure that is UAH 242 million. The field of education will be financed for UAH 199 million, the development of services for residents - by UAH 158 million. UAH 152 million will be distributed to areas of culture and sports.  UAH 128 million will be directed in the field of health. UAH 94 million will be allocated to support higher education institutions, housing and real estate. And 57 million UAH will be invested into environmental projects, parks and squares.

‘Today, the financing of all spheres of life in the city is balanced, as well as last year. Our budget has grown but the percentage distribution of funds remains the same. We will expand our attention spectrum with respect to the private sector, as well as towards the repair of roads of the third category’,
the Mayor Vadim Boichenko noted.

The mayor also gave a protocol order to the deputies, profile deputies and structural subdivisions to review the Private Sector Development Program, developed in 2016, to update it.
