More than 100 experts are working on the development of Mariupol Development Strategy 2030

Mariupol is a unique city on the meeting line of the hills of the Donetsk region and the Sea of ​​Azov, which is developed every day. Now the residents of Mariupol have the opportunity to do everything to make the city truly European level by 2030.

The final stage of developing Strategy 2030 is underway. The development team is consolidating hundreds of proposals and developments from society, international experts, scientists and members of working groups. This should result in a preliminary version of the Strategy. It is planned to be presented at the end of summer for public discussions.

The municipality of Mariupol began work on the creation of working groups in February 2020. They included more than 100 specialists and members of the public in 10 areas of city development: Economic Transformation, Technology, City Design, Health Care, Clean Environment, Functionality, Education and Science, Culture and Sports, Youth Creativity, Image of Mariupol.

‘When writing Strategy 2030, several dozen variants of missions and visions were generated. To understand the needs of Mariupol residents better, surveys of various age groups were conducted. Now we represent the city in ten years, as a showcase of the renewed Donbass. Our task is to develop an effective action plan to make Mariupol the city of the future,’ Deputy Mayor Serhii Orlov said.

The creation of the city's strategy is being implemented at the initiative of the Mariupol City Council and due to the support of the USAID Democratic Governance East (DG-East) and USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) projects. This is a significant contribution to the development of not only Mariupol, but Ukraine as a whole.
