On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the National Police of Ukraine, a solemn event has taken place in Mariupol. 100 best law enforcement officers were awarded with commendations and cash certificates from the city council. The policemen were congratulated by the deputy mayor Arkady Meshkov, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Donetsk region Mykola Semenishyn, representatives of law enforcement agencies and rectors of city universities.
For effective work within the framework of the city target program for combating drug-related crime, Arkady Meshkov presented the Donetsk region's Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine with a certificate for UAH 250 thousand. Besides, a certificate for UAH 50 thousand was transferred to the strategic investigation department in the Donetsk region. For high achievements during the performance of official duties, six law enforcement officers were awarded with certificates of gratitude given by the Mayor.
‘Today it is prestigious to be a policeman. Due to the conscientious work, honesty and resilience of law enforcement officers, Mariupol is among the safest cities in Ukraine. And our common victory is a high level of trust among the population. The municipality always supports security projects and does everything to make life in our city comfortable,’ the deputy mayor said.
Besides, the best police officers were awarded a departmental incentive award of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine - a badge "For the safety of the people", gratitude of the Head of the National Police, distinction of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, honors of the Commander of the Joint Forces "Cossack Cross" III degree and other awards.
‘With the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police”, the philosophy of creating a safe environment has been radically changed. And every year the level of citizens' confidence in the police is growing. We believe that we will win, because we are on our own land,’ Mykola Semenishyn noted.
Then he handed over four new official cars to the structural divisions of the regional headquarters. Besides, a festive event was held in the City Garden. Mariupol residents could see about 20 police locations and a concert from the Donbas Police Orchestra.
