The restored pier has become a place of rest for hundreds of Mariupol residents and guests of the city. It is located on the territory of a water sports complex. Now the reconstruction of the right side has begun. The Ilyicha Iron and Steel Works and the Metinvest-Promservice repair enterprise are helping the municipality to reformat the city pier.
According to the project, the load-bearing structures will be strengthened, supports and railings will be replaced, a terrace board will be laid, new lighting, benches and garbage bins will be installed. There will be two bathrooms.
‘Project financing is about UAH 14 mln. Seven of them are investments of Metinvest-Promservice,’ Deputy Mayor Serhiy Zakharov said.
Preparatory works such as dismantling of fences and searchlights are underway. The area and slope of the terrace pavement are measured, pedestrian part of the pier with a concrete pavement is leveled.
‘The work will adhere to the design of the already reconstructed part of the pier. It is planned to complete the project by celebrating the City Day,’ the acting General Director of Metinvest-Promservice Andriy Zhuk said.
The site of the water sports complex will also be improved. The territory will be laid with the tiles, yachts will be placed in a special place for parking.
