The sidewalks have been overhauled along Kuindzhi Str., from Mira Avenue to Semenishina Str. The length in both directions is almost 1.5 km. In addition, there are two public transport stops and LED lighting. Vadym Boichenko inspected the progress of the work performed.

“Our task is to create high-quality conditions for movement around the city. First of all, we repair the roads of the first and second categories. The next stage is to put in order the pedestrian zones”, Vadym Boichenko noted.

Repair works on the site started last year. According to the director of "Mariupolavtodor" Dmytro Chuchmay, the communications were completely replaced and a new asphalt pavement was laid.

“This year we started to repair the pedestrian part. 6 thousand square meters of the tile were laid. Plastic markings applied. Granite curbs have been installed, which are more durable”, he stressed.

The new sidewalks have sloping curbs that allow people with disabilities to move around comfortably. Garbage bins and waiting benches are installed along the pedestrian zones.

In addition, 64 LED lamps were installed. In the area where the pedestrian crossing is located, a special lamp with asymmetric optics is installed. Due to this, the streets will be bright and the city will get savings.

The cost of the reconstruction of sidewalks is more than UAH 10 million. UAH 1 million was allocated for the waiting pavilions. More than UAH 390 thousand was spent on lighting modernization.

Vadym Boichenko also noted the importance of modern illumination of reconstructed houses on Mira Avenue. Diode illumination was installed to emphasize the historical architecture there.

“It is impossible to build the future without preserving history. All the houses in the ring around the drama theater should be reborn. Lighting solutions are also an important part that emphasizes the beauty of our historical center”, Vadym Boichenko said.
