The repair works are being continued in Hurova Park. The creation of a full-fledged barbecue area is now being completed. The reconstruction of the complex has five stages. The total area of the park is 45.5 hectares. Mayor Vadym Boichenko inspected the progress of the work.

“Before starting the work, we conducted a survey among Mariupol residents. We found out how they want to see the park. Architects from the Netherlands developed the project. Our task is to implement it. To create a park zone, where the interests of all age groups of the population would be taken into account”, the Mayor stressed.

According to the park development plan, the barbecue area is now at the final stage. Due to the financial assistance of the region, sidewalk paths have already been paved, an irrigation water conduit has been laid and landscaping has been done. Gazebos were installed at the expense of the local budget. The plans are to install outdoor lighting and bathrooms. Plant about 20 thousand flowers and shrubs and more than 400 trees.

Next year, they will start creating the first location - a walking area with a fountain complex. Mariupol residents will receive a promenade zone with a unique cascade and pedestrian fountains. The latter will be equipped with additional options - a fogging system to create the effect of morning fog and humidify the air. In addition, there is a laser projection for evening and holiday shows. They plan to complete this stage by the city's birthday. It should be noted that the fountains are a gift to the city from the Metinvest Group.

Aditionally, the park will reconstruct the embankment, create a full-fledged sports area, equip the territory near the zoo with an active children's area and transform an extreme park in Maryland.

After reconstruction, the recreation area will become a real "pearl" of Mariupol. Slopes will be converted into children's areas. A 7-kilometer long cycle path will be landscaped around the park, and a new stage will appear. The park will be "connected" with the recreation center "Ukrainian House", which will turn into the largest concert hall in the city.

“Hurova Park will become a modern recreation area not only in the Kalmiussky district, but also as a magnet for attracting residents from all over Mariupol. Such modern places where our citizens would like to spend their time will make our city truly European”, Vadym Boichenko said.
