The overhaul of school № 26 keeps going. Next year it will become the support and methodological center of Prymorsky District. Children will study in classrooms with new technology and modern equipment. The adjacent territory will be landscaped and a sports complex for outdoor activities will be built. A full-fledged cultural center will also appear at the school.
“Through the prism of modern kindergartens and schools, children should develop the feeling that they live in an independent, peaceful country that is developing. Therefore, such an important state program as the "Big Construction" is being implemented. It shows that our children have bright, comfortable, modern and independent future,” Mayor Vadym Boichenko said.
The total cost of the project is UAH 93 million. Funding is provided from several sources: state subvention allocated within the framework of the Big Construction project, funds from the State Fund for Regional Development, regional and local budgets. The implementation takes place in three stages - renovation of the building, construction of a school sports zone and filling the premises with equipment. The contractor has already completed major works. The basement floor is currently being arranged, where there will be a separate dining room and a number of rooms. The work uses self-leveling floor technology.
“This project is one of the first in the region. It will be taken as an example for subsequent reconstruction of educational institutions. The main criteria are the quality of work, the timing of their implementation, comfortable and modern learning conditions. Our task is to support children as much as possible in their development on the path of an adult, independent life”, Pavlo Kyrylenko, Chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration stressed.
A spacious football field, a basketball and volleyball court, a training sector for long jump, sports simulators and chess will be opened on the school grounds. The location will become the epicenter of the sports life of Prymorsky district. A basis for sports implementation not only for children, but also for adults from Mariupol will be created there. Street lighting and CCTV cameras will be installed.
A full-fledged cultural center will also appear at the school. There will be various sections, a theater club and a museum.
