In every day life you can not always find the time to stop and watch the surrounding world. That is why the bright moments are often not noticed. The initiators of the projects, the artists of Mariupol have decided to attract resident’s opinion to beautiful landscapes of the industrial city.

Thus, Yelena Ukraintseva took part in ‘Public budget’ with ‘Post most’ art project. It won the program of small grants that promotes culture, sports, youth policy and tourism. The allocated funds were spent to hold some creative events.

According to Yelena, when you notice the beauty of native city, you start to love it most of all.

#dream

The dream to realize the project appeared many years ago. At first we wanted to take several industrial cities of Ukraine with Mariupol artists. But we needed some support. And we didn’t get it. Every year our hope melted. But the wish to show our native city to Mariupol residents such as we see it was stronger. We wanted to organize the exhibiton of the pictures and photos with beautiful landscapes and bright moments of life. Sometimes we just don’t see them. But Mariupol has the ones to inspire. At the exhibition we can show the beauty of the city. To start loving it more. These feelings made us take part in the life of the city and submit ‘Public budget’ project.

#choose

I addressed the Department of culture and society development. I found out about  ‘Public budget’ before the end of call of applications. I thought that we couldn’t miss this opportunity. Thus, we got a long-awaited chance to realize ‘Pot-most’ art project.

#realize

We held the exhibition of painting and graphic art of industrial landscapes of Mariupol. City artists and photo artists presented their works. A dynamic video installation was created. Besides, the plain-air was held at Theatre Square. Everybody could join the artists and paint in the open air. The pictures also became the part of the exhibition. It is a great pleasure that Mariupol residents saw their city in a different way.

Our main goal is to take attention of the visitors and direct it into positive and constructive field. We came to Zaporozhie with that exhibition.

#change

A ‘public budget’ helped give a stratum to the realization of our dreams. When applying, we did not hope the project to be implemented so quickly. As a result, we were able to show the beauty of industrial Mariupol. In the future, we plan to organize open plein airs where Mariupol residents will be able to exchange creative ideas with artists from different cities of Ukraine.
