Alexander Komarov is awarded the "Honorary Citizen of Mariupol"

Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Alexander Komarov has been awarded the high title of "Honorary Citizen of Mariupol." At the session of the city council, Mayor Vadym Boichenko presented the athlete with a certificate and an award.

“I am very grateful to the people of Mariupol who make our city even better with their achievements, great willpower, perseverance and courage. These people deserve such an important award as "Honorary Citizen of Mariupol", - Vadym Boichenko said.

The Mayor added that Alexander Komarov is an example of courage and dignity for young people. In turn, Alexander Komarova appreciated Vadym Boichenko and deputies for their support.

“It is a great honor for me to receive such a high title. I love our city and I am proud that I am from Mariupol. Mariupol is developing rapidly. I am convinced that he will not deviate from this path”, he said.

Alexander Komarov is a swimmer, a master of sports of Ukraine, a champion and a multiple winner of world and European championships. At the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, he won two medals at once: bronze in the individual swim and gold in the team relay.
