Draft Development Strategy of Mariupol-2030 is among the main issues of the XIV session of the City Council. The document determines the course of the city's development for the next nine years. This is the implementation of specific projects that open up new opportunities for every resident of Mariupol. The deputies supported the new Strategy and the development of the city.
“Strategy-2030 forms a new vector of development of Mariupol and new opportunities for every resident of our city. We see Mariupol in 2030 as a city by the sea with an ocean of opportunities. Our mission is to become the city of the Ukrainian miracle. So that everything appears better here, in Mariupol, and then scaled to the whole country, "Mayor Vadym Boichenko said.
Active residents, business representatives, deputies, the municipality and the best experts of the country joined the development of the Strategy. It was also developed with the support of international partners. In particular, USAID, and specialists from various fields, who helped to study the best experience of European countries and the United States, and adapt it to our city.
The focus of attention was the results of a sociological survey of people. 1.5 years of fruitful work. As a result, a document was formed, which identified 14 directions of development and more than 100 goals.
Deputy Mayor Serhii Orlov told about main vectors of the Strategy at the session. In particular, Mariupol will take the path of green sustainable development and build a future by the sea. This is a powerful reconstruction of the embankments, the creation of tourist routes and logistics around them. The city is turned towards the sea. In addition, the Strategy includes the transformation of the economy, the creation of active youth, the development of education and innovation, the latest approaches to city design, the creation of elevators in the fields of education, medicine, IT, etc.
“The strategy provides a vector for the city's development until 2030. This document has rallied the residents of the city and experts around one goal - to build a new Mariupol and create new opportunities for people, ” Serhii Orlov stressed.
It should be noted that the Strategy defines development directions and targets. This is a "living" document that will be filled with projects.
