The ‘Smart Stops’ project was chosen by Mariupol residents through an open electronic voting during which residents chose priority areas for the development of the city and its infrastructure. Vasyl Klat, director of the transport and communications department, spoke about this.

‘There was an old pavilion here that did not meet the requirements of comfort and safety. The new one has autonomous lighting due to the installation of solar panels on the roof. During the day, they are charged by natural sunlight. The stop is illuminated with the help of LED lighting in the evening,’ he stressed.

Vasyl Klat added that this is the first such stop in the city. Besides, within the framework of cooperation with the USAID project ‘Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine’, 12 electronic boards will be installed. Now they are purchased and will soon appear in Myru, Metallurhiv and Budivelnykiv Avenues.
