A modern cardiovascular center is on the basis of the Emergency Hospital. Since 2018, about 300 patients who were admitted with a diagnosis of myocardial infarction have been rescued. Now there is a reconstruction of the cardiology department and repair of the main building. The progress was checked by the Mayor Vadim Boichenko.

Now the building is being renovated on the ground floor, where the reception department will be located. Thus, the work is being carried out on  the second and fourth floors, where the cardiology and anesthesiology departments are located. The system of power supply and lighting is being replaced with the installation of energy-saving lamps, as well as water supply and sewage systems. New elevators will be installed.

The total project cost is UAH 75.9 million. The reconstruction is financed from several sources: the city budget, the European Investment Bank, the State Fund for Regional Development and subventions from the regional budget and Metinvest Group.

Now in the cardiovascular center, up to ten operations per day are performed. According to Vadim Boichenko, if earlier Mariupol residents had to go to another city with a heart attack or stroke, now everything necessary for operational assistance is in our city.

‘Three years ago, Mariupol did not have such medical opportunities in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Now the situation is radically changing. Here the life and health of people are saved. New equipment has been installed here and professional doctors work, who save patients every day,’
the Mayor stressed.

Now unique angiographic equipment is working, with its help they perform an operation on any vascular channel. The plans are to purchase another angiograph and a new computed tomography scanner. Thus, a consultation and diagnostic center will be created in the medical facility.

‘Here the patients will be able to be fully examined, pass all the necessary tests and, if necessary, the doctors will perform the operation. This is convenient, as they can get the whole range of services in one building,’ Sergei Orleansky, head physician at the Emergency Hospital said.
