Today People's Deputy of Ukraine Vadym Noviynsky has transferred two devices of artificial ventilation of the lungs and personal protective equipment for doctors to Mariupol hospitals. Charitable assistance aims to combat the spread of coronavirus. Words of gratitude were expressed by Mayor Vadym Boichenko.
Each ventilator is designed for simultaneous operation for two patients. Thus, it will be possible to connect two people at once to each device. They will be distributed between the Emergency Hospital and the infectious diseases department of City Hospital No. 4.
The kit also includes modern protective water-repellent suits and specialized glasses for the medical staff of the hospital.
‘Now is the time when everyone should show their best spiritual qualities. We must help each other and support. I hope that the devices will help to provide quality medical care to Mariupol residents. And personal protective equipment is to protect doctors,’ Vadym Novynsky said.
He added that, unfortunately, personal protection stores are empty all over the world. ‘Our foundation has carried out tremendous work in this direction. In the near future, the delivery of equipment and protective equipment is also expected,’ the people's deputy said.
In turn, Serhiy Orleansky emphasized that the equipment received is expensive equipment that allows providing intensive care according to modern standards.
‘There is a wonderful proverb:’A friend is known in trouble’. Then trouble came, and we see your real help. These are the modern lung ventilators we need. If this is not needed to treat patients with coronavirus, then the equipment will be used for planned treatment,’ he said.
Vadiym Boichenko noted the importance of joint efforts and the need to help medical workers.
According to the Mayor, a set of measures has been taken in Mariupol to control the situation. Vadym Boichenko recalled that today there is only one confirmed case of coronavirus infection in the city.
