Reliable water supply: Vadym Boichenko discusses the construction of a water treatment plant with French Ambassador

The Mayor of Mariupol has held a meeting with the Ambassador of France to Ukraine Etienne de Ponsin. The parties discussed the state of the project for the construction of a water treatment plant. The mayor also offered to join the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at the development of Mariupol.

During the meeting, a detailed schedule for the implementation of the water supply modernization project was considered. It has been planned to begin construction of the plant by 2023, and in a year, Mariupol residents will be provided with European-level public services.

“Step by step we are moving towards the goal – clean water from the tap in Mariupol. We have passed the bureaucratic stages. Now we proceed directly to the implementation of the project. I am sure that due to the help of France, in two years, Mariupol residents will be able to receive a public service of European quality,” Vadym Boichenko said.

We also discussed the replacement of the general contractor. It became the well-known French company "Vancy and Reizel-Beck" (the "Fayat" group) instead of the "Stiro" company. It is more powerful and efficient for the project .

At a meeting of the Presidents of France and Ukraine, it was decided to provide our state with a loan of EUR 200 million, as well as financial guarantees for EUR 1 billion for specific development projects. In this regard, Vadym Boichenko presented three potential projects from Mariupol to the French Ambassador. In particular, the modernization of PU Teploset, the reconstruction of the Central Embankment and the renewal of the tram line of route No. 10. It is here that the high-speed tram is planned to be launched.

“In recent years, France has been a reliable partner and assistant to Mariupol. I am sure that we will continue to implement joint projects aimed at improving the comfort level of life of the half-million community on the eastern border of Europe,” the Mayor of Mariupol emphasized.
