The meeting of the executive committee has taken place today in Mariupol. 51 decisions were discussed. Among them there were issues of the construction of a residential building in Primorsky district and sports grounds in the territory of three schools.

The head of PU ‘Management of capital construction’ Galina Sheychenko presented the project for the construction of an 8-storey residential building in 11 Amurskaya Str. According to him, its total area is more than 7 000 square meters. The cost is more than UAH 100 million.

‘The basis of a residential building is a metal structure. There will be 120 flats, 60 of them are one-roomed flats and 60 are two-roomed flats. All of them will be completely finished,’ Galina Sheychenko said.

This is the winning project of the Steel Freedom 2018 competition in the category ‘Creating a residential building project in the affordable housing segment in Mariupol’. The main condition of the competition is to develop a project using load-bearing steel structures. The framework will be made by Metinvest Group.

Vadym Boichenko noted that the project that won was selected through competitive selection. Young architects from all over Ukraine took part in it.

‘This is the first steel house that could potentially appear in Ukraine. Our goal is to provide affordable housing for young people and utility workers. We want to lay the foundation this year,’
the Mayor noted.

The Mayor added that the cost of one square meter will be equal to the prices of secondary housing. Thus, this balances the market and makes it possible to obtain affordable housing.

The members of the executive committee also supported the decision to create modern sports grounds near schools No. 15, 42 and 68. They will have safe artificial turf, universal pitch and workout playground.

‘We can implement such decisions due to the re-registration of Shakhtar football club in Mariupol. This gave us the necessary financial resource, which we directed to the development of a modern sports infrastructure,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
