Today, a meeting of the executive committee has been held in Mariupol. 43 draft decisions were submitted for consideration. There was the approval of the city budget for 2020 among one of them. The director of the finance department, Ekaterina Kalenik, made a report on this issue.

According to her, the budget for the next year was developed according to the laws of Ukraine and taking into account Mariupol Development Strategy until 2021. Thus, the budget revenues will be UAH 4 billion 347 million. Own revenues will amount to more than 3.5 billion, and transfers - 606 million.

‘Next year, there will be a decrease in the amount of state subventions. This is due to a number of reforms. Namely - the monetization of subsidies, benefits and reforms in the health sector. Now, money from the state budget is directly allocated to Mariupol residents, without entering the local budget,’ Yekaterina Kalenik said.

One of the key indicators of the revenue side of the budget is the minimum wage level. In 2020, it will grow by 13.2% and amount to UAH 4723. At the end of 2020, an increase in the cost of living is expected to reach UAH 2270. It is worth noting that the revenue part of the city budget, compared to 2019, will grow by 4% - this is the amount of about UAH 150 million.

According to Mayor Vadym Boichenko, the city budget is the main tool of the implementation of Mariupol Development Strategy - 2021.

A person is always in our focus of attention. We regularly conduct sociological surveys to identify the most significant areas for citizens. The result showed that Mariupol residents insist on more dynamic transformations in the field of medicine. Therefore, they decided to allocate record funding into the healthcare sector this year
the Mayor noted.

It is worth noting that about UAH 100 million are planned to be allocated for the development of secondary medicine, and 50 million for the primary one. Besides, in response to a request from residents, funding for HOA projects will increase - it will amount to UAH 30 million.
