Mayor Vadym Boichenko reported on the first and the main issue of the agenda of the XIXth session of the city council. It referred the adoption of a comprehensive Strategy for the development of Mariupol until 2021. This is a document, which will provide the systematical development, move it forward and make it more comfortable with each passing year.
The mayor stressed that this is a historical issue in the history of our city. Today the Mariupol Development Strategy for five years, which has never been before, was approved.
In his speech the mayor spoke about his vision of the new Mariupol and how it can be changed due to the implementation of the Strategy.
Before proceeding to the development of the Strategy, the key meanings of this document were identified. Thus, the Vision of Mariupol that consists of three components appeared: Strong City, Smart City, and Inspirштп City. Each of these aspects shows specific tasks.
According to Vadym Boichenko, Mariupol already has something to be proud of, but its development can become multifaceted. A strong city is a city with a steady economic and social development. A city with strong and successful businesses - partners and community. Smart city - involves the reform of the education system: from pre-school institutions to higher education. For example, nowadays Mariupol hosted three new universities from Donetsk - National Medical University, Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and State Institute of Management. Each of them is unique and important for the city.
Mariupol, as an inspiring city, has its rich history, architectural monuments, parks and waterfront. "We must reanimate it, bring it to order and modernize it, so that we can really be proud. I see Mariupol as a convenient, comfortable city for life, a place where successful and happy people live ", - Vadym Boichenko underlined.
The strategy includes 14 areas: "New Municipality", "Open Government", "Strong Economy", "Improving the Quality of Life", "Modern Transport and High-quality Roads", "Housing and Communal Services", "Healthy City", "Social Integration and Support "," Education - Investing in the Future "," New Cultural Platform "," Safe City "," Ecology "," Information Technologies "," Physical Culture and Sport ".
Deputies supported the Mariupol Development Strategy until 2021.
"I love Mariupol and believe that we are able to make everything," Vadym Boichenko said and added that the Strategy is an open book that is ready to be improved with every single initiative of every indifferent citizen who wishes to contribute to the development and creation of a new Mariupol. "
