Today at the XL session of the city council the deputies have supported a 4-months old Dasha. A decision was made to commit the financial assistance to her family. For an emergency treatment of a child, the city budget allocated about UAH 765 000.
‘First of all, the mission of the city council is to help people. A human life is the most expensive thing,’ Secretary of the city council, Stepan Mahsma said.
As the Director of the Department of Health Svetlana Makarova said, the girl was diagnosed with a congenital liver disease. She was treated at the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantation named after Shalimov, where recommendations for liver transplantation were given. Now her condition is getting worse and urgent surgical intervention is needed. The surgery is ready to be done in a clinic of Italy.
It is needed about EUR 117 000 for Dasha’s treatment in total. Having united, Mariupol residents and the residents of other Ukrainian cities have already gathered a significant sum of money. But this is not enough.
The parents of the baby have come to the reception of the Mayor of Mariupol before. Then Vadim Boichenko ordered the unscheduled issue of providing financial assistance to the following session of the city council. The city head promised to ask the partners of the city for help.
