At the Seaside Park on ‘Anchor’ alley a solemn celebration of the Day of Marines has taken place. This year, about seven hundred recruits joined the ranks of the coastal troops.
The celebration was attended by the representatives of the military commissariat, city council, as well as relatives and close infantrymen. The representatives of the top military leadership congratulated the soldiers and wished them success and perseverance in the service.
The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the dead soldiers. Then, bending the knees to the ground, the recruits took the oath. They also handed the battle flag to the commander of the 35th brigade which was created about six months ago and is already carrying out combat missions for the intended purpose.
Military higher ranks presented military awards and orders to distinguished infantrymen. The park hosted a display of military equipment and weapons of the Marine Corps. A naval orchestra performed.
The holiday was continued in the Ukrainian House. There, a good mood and a festive atmosphere were presented by ‘Riffmaster’ and ‘Stanislav’s Brothers’ rock bands.
