The celebration of Maslenitsa has begun in Mariupol today. During these days, a festive fair will be held at the Theater Square. You can try pancakes and dumplings for every taste in the houses at the pedestrian fountain.
On the first day it was organized a festive program by the Center of Culture and Leisure of Staryi Krym – ‘Meet Maslenitsa’ for the residents of Mariupol.
‘For the whole week, our culture palaces will acquaint Mariupol residents with the traditions of Maslenitsa. This will be accompanied by fun games, contests, songs and dances,’ Marina Mirzoyeva, head of the leisure department said.
Besides, a flower fair will be held from March 6 to 8. You can buy a variety of flowers there.
The main holiday will be held on Saturday. On this day, a performance from a puppet theater will be shown for children and Maslenitsa quest will be held for young people.
At the end of the action, all the guests of the festival will be invited to take part in the round dance. It will start at 5.30 p.m. After that, the traditional burning of the scarecrow will take place on the square.
