Today, the deputies have considered the issue of providing material assistance to the residents for treatment at a session of Mariupol City Council. The deputies supported the provision of assistance to another 20 residents in the amount of more than half a million UAH.

There is a 10 year old boy who needs help with a liver transplant. More than UAH 280 thousand will be allocated from the city budget for the operation. This issue was brought up for consideration outside the session, because surgical intervention is urgently needed.

These decisions save lives. The city has many warm stories when the disease receded. For example, the story of little Bohdan. In order for him to survive, it was necessary to undergo a liver transplant in Belgium at a cost of EUR 135 thousand. Volunteers and caring residents came to the rescue. UAH 615 thousand were allocated from the city budget. The boy was saved.

‘Since the beginning of 2021, 617 residents have received financial assistance for treatment in Mariupol. UAH 5.2 mln has been allocated from the city budget,’ Director of the health department Andriy Rempel said.
