The city palace of culture has become the cultural center of the Left Bank district. The building, which is over 65 years old, has been completely renovated inside and out. The adjacent territory was landscaped, new street lighting and decorative lighting of the building were installed. Now 21 creative associations, in which about 800 children and adults are engaged, have received modern conditions for self-realization. Mayor Vadym Boichenko, inspected the progress of the work performed, and also talked with the parents and pupils of the institution.
“Each district of Mariupol will receive its own cultural center, where our children can realize their creative potential. The City Palace of Culture is another step in this direction. By giving young people the opportunity to choose, supporting initiatives and developing talents, we make Mariupol a city in which they want to live. Today we see that 70% of Mariupol youth associates their future with our city”, he stressed.
During the major overhaul, the heating, utilities and ventilation were replaced. Creative classes are equipped with the necessary equipment. New parquet was laid in the ballroom dance class. Mirror walls and new machines were made. Participants of the first ballet school in Mariupol will be able to practice here. Also, all conditions for practical training of a variety and circus collective have been created.
The concert hall became the highlight of the project. The floor was completely changed here, a new stage and spectator seats were installed. The project cost is over UAH 70 million. It is important that with the complete modernization of the premises, it was possible to preserve the authentic architectural appearance of the building, including unusual windows, stucco molding and painting on the ceiling, which the artists restored by hand.
“We are building Mariupol, where everyone can realize themselves. With projects of cultural rebirth and inspiration, we show that our city is becoming European and comfortable. Such halls of choreography are not inferior to European ones, they create comfortable conditions for classes. Having developed a development plan, we prove it by deeds and implement it. Over the past three years, the city has undergone large-scale changes that can be seen”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
The Mariupol startup project "VAHTA" was also presented at the palace. This is a traffic accounting and analytics service that uses QR code technology. It combines the capabilities of a mobile application and a CRM system. VAHTA optimizes monitoring of children's attendance at school. In addition, video surveillance cameras are installed in all classrooms. Live broadcast of classes is displayed on screens located in the lobby of the building. So, parents at any time can find out how classes are going. In the meantime, there is no need to know about it”.
