The conference with mission representatives on the formation of the goals and objectives of the second phase of the municipal component of ‘EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine’ program has been held today. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of implementation of the projects in order to improve the information system of the city.
Deputy mayor Sergei Orlov noted that Mariupol took a rapid development course. Since 2016 he has managed to implement large-scale projects. A new approach to work, the development of municipal services allowed the city to attract huge investments and become a leader in the transparency rating.
‘Mariupol is the leader in the transparency rating according to Transparency International. Due to the Development Strategy 2021 and cooperation with international partners, it has become possible to renew public transport, repair roads, educational and medical institutions,’ the deputy mayor emphasized.
The representatives of the municipality offered their partners the cooperation in digitizing the registers of the city council, creation of a united portal for educational institutions, a service that would unite residents of HOAs, the board of associations and the municipality in the united information space.
It should be noted that on July 8, 2019, the Government of Ukraine and the European Commission signed an agreement on financing the second phase of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, which will start in 2020 and will last for 4.5 years.
In the framework of cooperation between EUACI and Mariupol City Council, a geoportal has been developed that will include several subsystems: investment objects, communal property, land register and the budget.
