Mariupol City Council has purchased about 30 bodycams for the Office of the patrol police. This will equip almost all cars with modern surveillance technology. The equipment was handed over to law enforcement officers by the Deputy Mayor Yaroslav Khotnyanskiy.

‘I am sure this technique will contribute to the prevention of crime. It will improve law and order in the streets. In addition, it will increase the level of security of Mariupol residents,’ Yaroslav Khotnyanskiy said.

According to the Chief of the Patrol Police in the Donetsk region, Mikhail Vershinin, the new equipment will facilitate the work of the patrol police.

Now the most important evidence in matters of crime is video. Very often, people require to be shown on a video committing their violation. Accordingly, this technique will help us fix the offense directly, familiarize the person with it and use the record as an evidence base,’ he stressed.
