It has been told by the first Deputy Mayor Mikhail Kohut. Yesterday there was a partial power outage of ‘Water of Donbass’ public utility. Mariupol is temporarily switched to Staryi Krym reservoir. Today, the channel is connected to electricity supply and in the evening the city will receive water from Severskiy Donets.

‘The water supply system of Mariupol is operating normally. There are no changes in the volume of water supply in Mariupol, ‘Mikhail Kohut stressed.

He said that yesterday in the afternoon, the Severskiy Donets Canal was disconnected from electricity and the Mariupol section of the enterprise ‘Donbass Water Company’ stopped receiving water from that channel. Mariupol is switched to Staryi Krym reservoir, as in 2017. The water hardness is 9.9.

At 22:00 ‘Water of Donbass’ public utility was connected to electricity and resumed its work. According to the first deputy mayor, by the end of the day the water from the canal will reach Mariupol.

‘Today, negotiations are underway between the utility company Donbass water and SE Ukrinterenergo. The issue is under special control of the government, the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Alexander Kuts  and Mayor of Vadim Boichenko,’ Mikhail Kogut said.

The first deputy mayor stressed that Mariupol is dealing with the issue of its own source of water supply. A step has already been taken in this direction - the Framework Agreement on official support of the project on the supply of drinking water to Mariupol has been signed with the French government. He will solve the issue of safe and quality water supply for a half-million city.

Mikhail Kohut said that the hardness of the water is monitored and information regarding it will be updated.
