The Mayor Vadim Boichenko has held a traditional press conference after the session. Journalists were interested in the issues of improvement, tariff revision and transport development. One of the tasks is to bring the utilities of the city to a new level. For this purpose, operational improvement programs are being developed.

‘We strive to ensure that municipal utilities work as ‘Kommunalnik’ and not to be unprofitable. So that the city would not subsidize them but accumulate money in the infrastructure projects of Mariupol, on the development of parks, squares, transport and repair of schools, kindergartens, housing construction and much more. This is the task of the city government and the task of the state is to provide all the conditions so that tariffs are formed economically justified’,
Vadim Boichenko noted.

In particular, Mariupol will file an application with the NKREKP and approve a new tariff for heat supply. A subsidy will allow to offset the utility costs.

Also, the city continues to fight the watering holes. As a result, they are being dismantled from the streets. In addition, Mariupol developed a corresponding bill so that an alcohol on tap will not be sold in the sphere of public catering.

‘I am against the popularization of open consumption of alcohol. I am opposed to this trend. I do not want children to do this. It is unsafe for health. I want us to promote a healthy lifestyle and sports. And they have shown everyone an example’,
the Mayor told.

During the press conference, Vadim Boichenko noted that the city is doing everything for young people to stay in Mariupol. Much work has been done in this direction. In 2018, 65% of all graduates of educational institutions remained in the city. A new program that is a strategy of opportunity will help to improve this rate in the future.

‘We want to attract young people to our city. Holidays, festivals, transport, new infrastructural meanings, the ‘City of Maria’ cluster, the opening of universities - all this serves as an anchor for young people to stay in Mariupol. We are moving towards building new opportunities in order to preserve the youth and reborn the city’,
the Mayor stressed.
