The Mayor of Mariupol and the Governor of Donetsk region visit a new emergency department

An emergency department was created in the city hospital No. 1. It will allow you to quickly diagnose and provide assistance. The project was implemented within the framework of the state program "Big Construction". Mayor Vadym Boichenko and the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko visited the new facility.

“I want to appreciate the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for this initiative, which became possible due to “Great Construction” program. The branch would not have existed without Pavlo Kyrylenko, who decided to double the funding. The emergency medicine unit has never been in Mariupol. Today, they will provide prompt, full-fledged assistance and save the lives of Mariupol residents”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.

The department has equipped a receiving box for two ambulances with a through passage. From here, patients go to the emergency room. The necessary diagnostic equipment and a laboratory are available here. All this is concentrated on one floor, which allows you to quickly establish a diagnosis and begin the necessary treatment. The capacity of the department is up to 100 people per day.

“We have long wanted to have such a department. It will shorten the time for diagnosis and care. Thus, we can quickly provide assistance and reduce mortality. It is important that we have the opportunity to distribute the flows of patients”, the director of the hospital, Larisa Mamayeva said.

The second floor houses modern operating rooms are equipped with new technology. The operating table allows you to perform unique laparoscopic operations. Innovative surgical lamps and an ultrasound machine were installed. The total cost of the work is almost UAH 60 million. The surces of funding are state and city budgets.

Pavlo Kyrylenko highly appreciated the work done.

“It's modern and mobile. It is especially pleasant to see the joyful eyes of doctors. I am convinced that patients will also feel comfortable. It is important that doctors are ready to work with modern equipment. I see that the fruitful interaction between the city and the hospitals gives a high result”, - the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration said.
