Mariupol Vodokanal has planned to replace 36 km of water supply networks and more than 3 km of sewage networks this year. For laying pipelines more than UAH 30 million was allocated. This was told by the head of the utility company Gennadiy Izyumov.

The repair works take place in Freedom Street – starting from Granitnaya Str. to Novovostochnaya Str. They are replacing the emergency site with a length of more than 200 meters of the main conduit.

According to Gennadiy Izyumov, these works are planned to be completed by the end of April.

‘In addition, in the summer there will be a replacement of sections along Volzhskaya and Novovostochnaya Str. Thus, the residents of Novoselovka village will no longer experience such problems with water supply,’ he noted.

The conduit, which is currently under construction, has been operating since 1971 and it provides water to about 25 000 residents of the Central District.

As the director of the municipal enterprise, Gorvodokanal also takes part in ‘Cozy Yard’ program. The yards have already been identified where replacement of water supply and wastewater utilities is necessary.
