City-bot Nazar, a service that has been informing Mariupol residents about planned and emergency shutdown of city communications for almost a year, has become the winner of Open Data Challenge 2019 national contest. It is supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, in partnership with the Eastern Europe Foundation, TAPAS Project / Transparency and accountability in governance and services and 1991 Open Data Incubator.

In April Nazar city bot reached the finals of this competition, falling into the incubation program, which lasted for 4 months on the basis of 1991 Open Data Incubator (Kiev). During this time, the development team received useful tips on improving the service from leading experts from various fields and was also able to present the project to representatives of other cities who were interested in the service created in our city.

The victory will allow Nazar city-bot to reach a new level of improvement. Firstly, new functionality will appear. Even during the incubation program, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Office of Effective Regulation (BRDO), an institution recently led by Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharuk.

This cooperation, in particular, provides for joint actions to develop the Start Business Challenge project and to promote regional programs for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Thus, very soon, all users of Nazar city bot will have the opportunity to take advantage of this useful service.

City bot service Nazar was implemented with the support of Mariupol City Council and Viber representative office in Ukraine.
