Vadim Boichenko has met with the Professor of Vilnius University of Medicine Arunas Valiulis, a manager of the projects of European Academy of Pediarty in Ukraine Tatyana Golub and the President of ‘Ukrainian Academy of Pediatry’ Social Organization, the professor of Lvov Medical University, children’s hematologist Leonid Dubey.
Mariupol City Mayor told briefly about the strategy of development and key vectors of work concerning medicine. He also admitted that multimillion investments gave an opportunity to purchase necessary equipment and to start reconstruction of the hospitals.
The guests told that yesterday they gave a specialist’s advice in a children’ consulting health center of Mariupol Territorial Medical Union (MTMU). Today they have given an international pediatric conference where they have been able to communicate with Mariupol family doctors, pediatricians, therapists, heads of the city ambulance stations, city children’s specialists and heads of medical centers.
‘We have felt benevolent attitude in Mariupol. We tend to help all the doctors from Ukraine. We have worked out educational projects for pediatricians of Mariupol. We will have discussed all the points to bring necessary specialists here’, Leonid Dubey adimitted.
‘The doctors of Mariupol differ from other doctors of Ukraine. It is important that they are ready to get knowledge. They do not hesitate to tell us about it. It is a key issue for us’, Tatyana Golub shared her impression.
Arunas Valiulis in his turn admitted that European Academy of Pediatry concentrates on people who treat children and after that they pay attention to the walls and repairs.
‘It is not enough to buy modern equipment, you need people who can work and want to study. There are those people who have already studied and those who tend to grow within the framework of modern medicine’, the Professor of Vilnius Medical University emphasized.
The Mayor said to the guests that they have started to test a system of electronic record. This system will let watch every patient, his appointment and medicine that is taken by him. And the key issue is that it is going to help health workers to avoid paperwork and they will be able to spend more time helping their patients.
