In Mariupol schools are at the final preparations for the ‘First Bell’. In total, over 38 thousand students will sit at their desks. At the beginning of the new school year, Mayor Vadim Boichenko visited schools No.17 and 28. He checked the implementation of Mariupol programs – ‘Heat to every class, every group’ and ‘Hygiene in schools’.
It is worth noting that about UAH 11 million was allocated from the city budget for the implementation of the ‘Hygiene in Schools’ program and about UAH 14 million was allocated for ‘Heat to each class, to each group’.
School number 17 was built 85 years ago. The implementation of the program ‘Heat in every class, in every group’, which includes a complete replacement of windows was done. The total cost of financing is UAH 1, 6 million.
New windows have high sound insulation and for safety - child locks are installed. Also, in the educational institution, the installation of door blocks was carried out.
The school principal, Oksana Kior, thanked Vadim Boichenko for the positive changes in the field of education. Last year, a modern football field was made here, and in the future they plan to repair the toilets and the roof.
In school № 28 they already made new toilet rooms on all floors. The repairs were carried out as part of the School Hygiene program. Financing amounted to UAH 1.9 million.
The rooms are equipped with modern washbasins, hand dryers and mirrors. A separate toilet for children with disabilities is specially equipped. According to the director of the school, earlier it was simply impossible to imagine such a thing at Mariupol schools. Today, educational institutions of the city are becoming accessible to everyone.
Vadim Boichenko emphasized that one of the priority areas of Mariupol is the development of the field of education and the creation of modern conditions in training. Within the framework of the New Ukrainian School project, to equip 153 first graders, they acquired modern equipment and the necessary equipment. The total investment amounted to UAH 40.8 million.
