On April 30, a new project ‘Good Neighbours - One Country’ has been launched. Mariupol residents will develop a culture of good neighbourhood, supporting and creating associations of co-owners of apartment buildings for a year and a half.

Specialists in the development of HOAs, as well as specialists in public engagement, media, urban planning and design will share their experience. Their goal is to talk about the great potential of HOAs and teach citizens to use it as effectively as possible. Specialists will provide assistance in reformatting urban spaces.

‘The project team and local coordinators work closely with the municipality and society. Together they will find solutions to pressing issues. Such interaction will increase civic activity and help develop a culture of good neighbourhood,’ Ruslan Tormosov, executive director of the Institute for Local Development said.

This is an initiative of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization ‘Institute of Local Development’. Its implementation was made possible by the sincere support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the USAID Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine project.

The initiative is being held in 14 more cities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. You can follow the update and progress of the project on the Institute of Local development on Facebook page  www.facebook.com/mdiorgua/ and on website  www.mdi.org.ua
