During all-Ukrainian forum “Ukraine 30. Decentralization”, Deputy Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko has noted that airports in Mariupol, Uzhgorod, Poltava, Chernovtsy, Kherson and other cities will be built or reconstructed in Ukraine.
‘We want and we have already begun the reconstruction of many regional airports. In addition to reconstruction, as promised, this year we launched flights there in cooperation with Ukrainian airlines so that people can travel for tourism purposes, for business purposes, so that different regions, for example, Uzhgorod or another city, could meet tourists from other countries,’ Kyrylo Tymoshenko said.
Mayor Vadym Boichenko stressed that two locations are being considered for the construction of an airport for Mariupol - the town of Mangush or the village of Starodubovka. The distance from the line of contact complies with safety standards.
‘The construction of the airport will give new life to the city and the region. There is support from the state and personally from the President of Ukraine. Together we will be able to open an airport for residents of our region, create jobs and launch business development,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.
