One of the most important public holidays is celebrated today- the Day of the Constitution of Ukraine in all corners of our country. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Basic Law 25 years ago, it has become a symbol of our democracy and independence. In honor of this, a solemn meeting was held in Mariupol near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. Mayor Vadym Boichenko congratulated everyone on the holiday.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the municipality, military personnel, police officers and the public. The festive program was opened with the Anthem of Ukraine. Dance groups of the city and a symphony orchestra performed.
‘The purpose of this holiday is to remind of respect for the law and the rights of everyone. We are all equal before the Constitution. Each of us is building an independent Ukraine. We are developing Mariupol, every day it becomes more modern and comfortable. Due to our transparency, we attract international partners, investments and can implement large-scale projects. Our goal is a European democratic society. Creation of new opportunities for Mariupol residents’, Vadym Boichenko said.
The meeting ended with the laying of blue and yellow flowers at the foot of the monument to the Kobzar.
It is worth noting that at 7 p.m. a concert of the symphony orchestra of the chamber philharmonic society and creative bands of the cultural center "Ukrainian House" will take place for residents and guests of the city at Theatre Square.
