Mariupol is visited by the people’s deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zhelezniak with the working visit. He met with the first deputy mayor Mikhailo Kohut and the deputy mayors Serhiy Orlov and Arkadiy Meshkov. The parties discussed the issues of epidemiological situation, ecology and the state of economics.

During the meeting Yaroslav Zhelezniak admitted that Mariupol has changed during the last time. “I want to make a compliment to Mariupol. It is distinguished brightly. It is obvious that it is developing and becoming better. The success of Mariupol is the success of the whole region.”

Speaking about the epidemiological situation, Mikhailo Kohut noted that the issue of preventing and spreading coronavirus is under the control of both the specialized department and Mariupol doctors. At the beginning of the first wave in Ukraine, the city developed a clear work algorithm to reduce the risk of the spread of the disease.

“We promptly began work on the observance of quarantine norms, the creation of hospital bases, and the motivation of doctors by raising salaries. We have prepared over 1000 beds for hospitalization of people with COVID-19. All of them are provided with oxygen,” the first deputy mayor emphasized.

According to Serhiy Orlov, despite of the quarantine and additional expenses, over UAH 114 mln have been allocated into realization of the projects in 2020. All the planned actions were done.

Arkady Meshkov added that the city is one of the safest in Ukraine. Due to the unique system of regional protection UASC, the number of crimes in Mariupol has significantly decreased. Its main uniqueness is its software. Due to modern cameras, you can automatically track the number, model and color of your car. In addition, the system can recognize faces and respond to sudden increases in noise.

In addition, issues of industrial and communal ecology, the number of residents, the level of wages at enterprises and the further development of the city were discussed.
