Foreign Ministers of Ukraine- Pavel Klimkin, the Czech Republic - Tomas Petršicek and Denmark - Anders Samuelsen have visited Mariupol. Their goal is to receive up-to-date information on the security, humanitarian, social and economic situation in the Donbass.

The first point of visit was ‘Gnutovo’ checkpoint. The ministers talked about the course of its reconstruction and demonstrated the point of providing assistance to the population and the mobile point, which will increase the throughput capabilities.

Then the diplomats visited Mariupol Sea Commercial Port, where they were shown the warships and told about the difficult economic situation.

Pavel Klimkin noted that the visit of ministers testifies to the support of the countries of the European Union of Ukraine and their interest in helping Donbass.

‘I am very glad that having received today's emotions, the ministers will talk with my friends and colleagues on February 18 during a meeting of the European Union foreign ministers discussing the way the EU can help Ukrainian Donbass. Infrastructure projects are important to us: we need a cool road to Zaporozhye. We need a cool road along the coast. We need a real railway and an airport. You see that every European country and the whole EU makes a special contribution. And I am very grateful for this to our friends,’ the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized.

Anders Samuelsen focused on detained Ukrainian sailors.

‘The path that has chosen Russia is unacceptable. We want to send a clear message: release the seamen and bring them back. We must show that the violation of international laws does not lead to anything good. And I would like to send a message to Ukraine - we support your struggle for democracy and the fight against corruption,’ he said.

According to him, the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic joined. He noted that his country supported Ukraine and already provides economic assistance to the East of the country.
