Mariupol celebrates the Baptism of Christ

Today, in Mariupol, the rite of baptism has been  held at rescue stations along Primorskiy Boulevard, 38 and along 60a Vinogradnaya Street. Besides, bathing takes place in the villages of Talakivka and Sartana.

A large-scale celebratory event was prepared in the Primorsky district. On the territory of the rescue station, the ceremonial part of the holiday ended with the release of white doves in the name of peace. After the concert began. The cultural and entertainment program was prepared by the creative teams of the city. Among them there were ‘Chervona  Kalyna’, ‘Dance Quarter’, ‘Pervotsvet’, an amateur folk group of the Cossack song ‘New Day’.

For Mariupol residents and guests of the city there was a fair where you could buy a variety of culinary products and souvenirs. For the comfort of those who want to swim in the cold water, heated tents, changing rooms and toilets were installed. They offered to warm up with free hot tea, buns and fragrant festive kulesh.

Besides, to warm up, they offered to take part in sports competitions - battles on bags, dance hopak, Cossack relay races, etc.

Ambulance and police patrols were on duty at the bathing sites. The employees of the emergency and diving service of the City Council were on duty until 6:00 on January 20.
