Today a large-scale celebration of the city's 240th anniversary has begun in Mariupol. The residents were congratulated not only by musicians but also by honorable guests - ambassadors, people's deputies of Ukraine, international partners and city-forming enterprises on the main stage of Mariupol.
People's deputies of Ukraine congratulated Mariupol with an anniversary. ‘In every person's life there is a city where he was born and raised, where his home is. He constantly feels drawn to it, to his roots and origins. For me, as for thousands of people, this is native Mariupol. This is a city that we love and appreciate. A city that we respect. It's nice to see Mariupol today. Our city has not lost face. It is a multinational pearl of the Azov Sea,’ Sergey Matvienkov said.
Sergey Taruta believes in great future of the city: ‘I am very proud that I was born and I have grown up here. My soul and heart are here in my beloved Mariupol. He proved that he is the main defender of Ukraine. Our city is one of the best in the country. We have an amazing future!’.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece Georgios Pukamisas wished the city all the best: ‘You have to know that Mariupol residents are in the heart of every Greek. We always think about Mariupol. You have a strong future! The largest port in Ukraine is located in Mariupol and it is also a large metallurgical center of Ukraine. In Kiev we with our colleagues and ambassadors of other countries are fighting for Mariupol-Zaporozhye traffic to be renewed’.
On behalf of ‘Beten Ingenierie’ French company, the city was congratulated by its representative Michelle Forge: ‘We believe that Mariupol is the most Eastern city in Europe and it is worth of modern environmental projects. It is also worth of having clean drinking water, a beautiful quay, clean sea and waste recycling. Our company will make every effort to help you implement these wonderful projects’.
