At the session of Mariupol City Council, the deputies agreed to sign the Grant Agreement with the International Finance Corporation. With its help, Mariupol will introduce a transport model of the city. The grant amount is USD 30 000.

‘A large-scale transport project of 2019-2020 is being implemented in Mariupol. A financial international corporation will give us a transportation model. It will calculate the optimal number of the routes and the interval of trips. Municipal transport will be available to all the residents,’
Vadim Boichenko stressed.

The transport model will allow a comprehensive approach to solve logistical problems within the city. The grant from IFC will be aimed at planning the transport system and modeling reasonable transport development scenarios and a purchase of a perpetual software license.

In addition, the cooperation with international partners will allow to attract credit funds in the amount of about EUR 30 million. They plan to purchase 64 buses and 72 trolley buses, to carry out a major overhaul of the contact network and depot.

‘Mariupol learned to work with external donors and international partners. Today it has become prestigious to work with our city. We do not just talk, but we do,’
the Mayor noted.
