During the second plenary session, Mikhail Levitskiy, the General Director of Technical Management Services, said that Mariupol received an international certificate of implementation of the energy management system. Mariupol City Council is the third in Ukraine that has passed the procedure of compliance.
The audit for the receipt of the international standard ISO 50001: 2011 ‘Energy management systems - Requirements with guidance for use’ was conducted by the specialists of TMS LLC - the representative of the German certification concern TÜV SÜD in Ukraine.
They checked the activities of the relevant department of the Department of Environment, Energy Management and Labor Protection. In addition, they visited the municipal institutions of Mariupol, selected at random.
It is worth noting that the ISO 50001: 2011 standard systematized and unified the global practices of the approach to energy management and improving performance. It is an effective energy management tool that includes systematic cost reduction, minimizes environmental impact and provides tangible financial benefits.
