The representatives of PU ‘Mariupol Tram-Trolleybus Management’, ‘Belkommunmash’ and ‘BKM-Ukraine’ have signed a contract with a consortium for the supply of 72 new low-floor trolleybuses. The event was attended by Mayor Vadym Boichenko, First Deputy General Director for Production of ‘Belkommunmash’ Company Dmitry Parkov and Director of ‘BKM-Ukraine’ Nikolai Romaniuk.
The total amount of the contract is EUR 15.2 million. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development provided 12.2 million. Grant funds ‘E5P’ is EUR 3 million. It provides the supply of 72 trolley buses, 15 of them are with an autonomous run of 20 km. The first batch of 12 units of transport should arrive in Mariupol in twelve weeks.
Dmitry Parkov emphasized that Mariupol is especially important for the company. That is why the priority will be given to the implementation of the contract. He added that these trolleybuses are the best in the world in technical terms. They work autonomously and they are charged from the contact network. Transport will be equipped with Wi-Fi, modern air conditioning and passenger count system.
