A great aunt of six-month Bogdan Forost has turned to Mayor Vadim Boichenko at a personal reception. The boy needs an expensive liver transplant operation. The baby himself and his mother are now being treated in Lvov.

According to the great aunt, an operation on a related transplantation of a child weighing 6 kg is taken only in a few countries. The father will be the donor. But the unbearable amount  is EUR 134 000. The family has already spent about UAH 300 000 for treatment.

‘Now we are actively collecting recommendations on the clinic. We consider Italy, Belgium and Belarus. The Ministry of Health offered a consultation at the Shalimov Institute,’ Svetlana Makarova, director of the health department said.

Vadim Boichenko promised to do everything possible to help Bogdan’s family and to connect to the city’s large business fundraising.

‘Mariupol is the city of caring people. This has already been proven. In a short time, all residents of our city raised funds for the treatment of Darya Romanova. We are one big family and should help each other’,
the Mayor noted.
