Today, 37 residents of Mariupol have become homeowners on the City Day. The award ceremony took place in the renovated Hurov Park. The keys to the flats were handed over by Mayor Vadym Boichenko, the People's Deputy of Ukraine Vadym Novynsky and the deputy chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration Ihor Moroz.

32 families of "new Mariupol residents" received housing. There are teachers, military and large families. Five flats were given to medical workers of city hospitals.

‘All the changes we see are impossible without the support of regional authorities, city-forming enterprises, without a team of like-minded people. The key is without Mariupol residents fighting the pandemic, teaching our children and defending our country. These apartments are a sign of respect for their work for the benefit of their hometown,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.

Vadym Novynsky added that it is extremely important to support people who had to leave their homes.

‘Mariupol has received about 100,000 IDPs and they need to be supported and integrated into the community. The main element of this is your own home. It is good that the city, regional and central authorities are working together in this direction,’ the deputy said.

As part of the project "Creating housing for IDPs in Mariupol" among a total of 11 flats were reconstructed and issued due to the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund with the financial support of the German Development Bank KfW.
