The delegation of Mariupol, chaired by mayor Vadym Boichenko, has made a working visit to Vinnitsa. The goal is to study the experience of other municipalities in the construction of houses, implementation of electronic ticket, the operation of technology parks and creation of ‘municipal security’.

Vadym Boichenko with the deputy mayors and experts of a subject met with mayor of Vinnitsa Serhiy Morgunov. They got aquainted with the work of PU ‘Municipal security’, city programs on housing construction, IT services, visited the industrial park and some public utilities. They found out about attraction of investments and the projects of development of the city.

According to Vadym Boichenko, this is the second visit of Mariupol to Vinnitsa. The first meeting was held four years ago, when our city was studying the best practices of Ukrainian cities. The practical solutions were implemented in Mariupol. The provision of cleanness in the streets of the city, creation of cardio center and centers of administrative services are among them.

As a result, Mariupol became neater and it uses street vacuum cleaning machines that were seen in Vinnitsa. Studying the experience of the colleagues, the cardiovascular center was opened in Mariupol. It is equipped with modern equipment. Due to it, thousands of people save lives there and the mortality because of cardio-vascular diseases fell by one half. Mariupol started work on provision of municipal services in “Transparent Office”. It inspired our city to open the centers of administrative services even more – to enlarge, to reinforce and make them multifunctional.

‘I think that municipalities must be open, share the knowledge and successful practices. If we think about Ukraine and its development, then we need to understand it is not possible to build a super-city or even region, not paying attention at the conditions of other cities. That is why, such meetings must be regular. We must share the knowledge and experience. Today Mariupol has what to show. We have knowledge, innovative, not standard approaches and I am sure that Vinnitsa will be interested in the experience of Mariupol, in particular,in the program of support of HOA and realization of major projects, unique for all Ukraine,’ Vadym Boichenko admitted.

His colleague Serhiy Morgunov shares his opinion. He admitted that positive exchange of experience between different cities will help to develop to the communities: ‘Everyone has its own experience, every community has its own peculiarities, its mentality, certain differences in the vision of territorial community. But the key issue is that Vinnitsa and Mariupol has its opportunities and teams which can work and reach corresponding results’.
