A pupil of the Mariupol Technical Lyceum Ekaterina Malkina has won a gold medal at the GENIUS Olympiad 2018 for ‘High-density polyethylene recycling method’ project. The Olympiad took place in the USA on the basis of the New York State University at Oswego from 11th to 16th June.
Over 1,300 schoolchildren from all over the world came to compete for the victory in the United States. Ukraine was represented by eight people, there was our Mariupol pupil. Ukrainians brought two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
Ekaterina Malkina suggested a solution to the problem of recycling plastic waste with the help of grubs at her work.
Its opening has already been highly appreciated in other countries. The work of the Lyceum student is considered to be as a revolutionary solution to a number of environmental problems.
