President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law supporting the project for the supply of drinking water to Mariupol. The relevant agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France was ratified by the Ukrainian parliament. According to the agreement, about EUR 64 million will be allocated to finance this project. This was reported on the official page of the head of state on Facebook.

‘I know that the absence of quality nutritional water was the problem of community and the problems of the world. We worked with Mayor of Marіupol Vadim Boichenko over the situation with water supply. I also appreciate our partners - French Republic who will help Ukraine with our problems. I hope other regions will be encouraged by the example of Marіupol,’
Petro Poroshenko notes.

It is worth noting that this project is a pilot for the whole of Ukraine. Water supply is one of the key problems of Mariupol. This project aims to solve the problem of using an alternative source of water supply, minimize water losses and improve its quality.

According to the document, France will provide funds that will ‘cover’ 100% of the project on water supply of Mariupol. For example, French side goods will be purchased for 70%, and for 30% - Ukrainian or foreign goods. The loan also includes EUR 1.2 million to finance project management assistance.

We appreciate the President of Ukraine for support in solving a pressing issue for Mariupol.
