Today the Mayor Vadim Boichenko has had a personal reception of citizens. 7 people came to get Mayor’s support. They were interested in a wide range of issues starting from rendering assistance in treatment to improving living conditions. Each citizen received a response indicating the specific deadlines for solving the problems.

The citizens of the emergency house along Pravoberezhnaya Street came to the Mayor’s appointment. Cracks on the walls, leaking on the roof, stove heating, lack of sanitation and other centralized services make living in that house unbearable. Mariupol citizens ask to perform major repairs with landscaping and provide heating.

The municipal services have already demolished the emergency trees there and installed special tell-tales on the cracks. Vadim Boichenko instructed to develop design and estimate documentation for the house this year. After that they will take a decision to resettle the residents or carry out major repairs with the strengthening of load-bearing structures and taking into account the solution of all domestic problems.

‘We live in a civilized world and we need to create modern conditions for residents and  we do not leave them alone to solve housing problems that have not been accumulated in a decade. Last year, 6 emergency houses were renovated, this year we are planning twice as many – 14’, the Mayor said.

The absence of sidewalks along Kotovsky Street is a stumbling block for pupils on their way to school. Going along the roadway is dangerous for the life and health of children. The mayor posed the task of making the sidewalk next year.

‘Everything we do today in Mariupol is for children and the younger generation, we create new opportunities and comfortable conditions for development, we want the youth to connect their future with our city,’ Vadim Boichenko said.

During the appiontment, the mayor thanked the initiative residents. They are always ready to support not just in words but in deeds.

Vadim Boichenko was also approached by a group of entrepreneurs with a request to regulate the work of pop-up retail in the streets of Mariupol. The mayor stressed that the city authorities are always ready for a dialogue.

‘I object to chaos and lawlessness in the streets of Mariupol. I support the European principles of work in the issues of pop-up retail, when it is effected exclusively at fairs or markets. There should be no spontaneous trade in a city. Mariupol should not turn into Shanghai,’ the Mayor said.
