A large-scale IT-conference ‘MRLP IT Conf 2019’ has started in Mariupol. It was visited by the Deputy Chairman of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Bureau of Europe and Eurasia Margo Ellis and the Deputy Mayor Sergey Orlov. They talked to young people and IT specialists.
‘MRLP IT Conf 2019’ is a conference on the development of web-technologies and web-design, as well as the work of marketing and management in the field of IT. It was attended by the leaders of leading IT companies, techno entrepreneurs, product and project managers, creative designers and illustrators.
Margo Ellis and Susan Fritz discussed with the audience the further development of IT technologies in Mariupol. Including the opening of the modern IT cluster.
‘The opening of a regional IT cluster is an important step for the city's economy. Mariupol has an incredible potential. For this, it has everything it needs - city authorities with a clear vision of development, interested educational institutions and creative entrepreneurs. The IT cluster in Mariupol will become a driving force in the development of the Azov region,’ Margo Ellis said.
Deputy Mayor Sergei Orlov said that for the opening of a regional IT cluster they had been preparing for several years.
‘Today the dream has become a reality. In the modern world, information technologies are included in every field of activity, including the activities of Mariupol City Council. The current development strategy of Mariupol until 2021 is aimed at improvement and reconstruction. Next - should cover the information sector. And IT technologies should become one of the key blocks for the development of the city’s economy,’ Sergey Orlov said.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum was signed on the opening of a regional IT cluster in Mariupol. It is planned that it will work on the basis of the educational multi-center ‘Spalah.’ Its first constituent assembly will take place on July 6th.
