Over the next 10 years, Mariupol should move from an industrial to a post-industrial stage of development. Formation of the city's image and brand has become a new direction of the Strategy-2030. Ksenia Sukhova, secretary of the city council, spoke about this in details.

"The image of the city is about how Mariupol residents see it and how Mariupol is seen from the outside. In order to better understand the needs and wishes of citizens, a sociological survey was conducted. Statistics showed that the majority of Mariupol residents are proud of their hometown. We will support this positive trend to attract residents from all over Ukraine to Mariupol ", Ksenia Sukhova noted.

The main factors in the formation of an attractive image will be the sea, historical potential, industrial heritage, unique nature and ethnic resources. In order to increase the number of tourists, the tourist infrastructure will be updated, relations with international partners will be expanded. It is planned to more actively interact with partner cities, involve Mariupol residents in changes in the city and create favorable conditions for their self-development.

In projects that will be implemented over the next ten years, Mariupol will pay attention to the national heritage, the multiculturalism of the city, the development of the IT sphere, fill the infrastructure with new contents and create niche spaces.

The formation of the city's image will include tourist information centers and sites, excursion routes, observation platforms, places of recreation and entertainment (parks, walking areas, squares, Wi-Fi zones), cultural sights and modern art objects.

In addition, a multifunctional cultural center "Port of Cultures" is planned to be open and it is also planned to start holding an annual Media Forum, develop a promotion program and open the first municipal television. Cultural and creative managers will be trained to develop promotional projects.
