The Greek Square has been opened solemnly on the City Day. Its territory looks fashionable and modern. Green lawns, new plantations and a completely new meaning. Almost UAH 19 mln was allocated for reconstruction.
Throughout the year, Mariupol residents observed changes in the area. The lawn has been laid, the alleys have been updated as well as green plantings have been planted. There were shops and modern lights. A pedestrian fountain has been opened.
Most of the work was done at the expense of the sponsor Panteleimon Bumburus. To implement the project, he sent almost UAH 15 mln. UAH 1.7 mln was allocated by the Development Fund of Mariupol and the main donor is the enterprises of the Metinvest Group. The sprinkler system is equipped for this money. And UAH 2 mln is allocated from the city budget for gardening works.
Panteleimon Bumbaras also addressed Mariupol: ‘When I come to Mariupol, I have a great joy. I would like to wish all the residents to overcome all the difficulties and overcome all the problems that happen. Happy holiday, Mariupol’.
Vadim Boichenko gave the patron an honorary ‘Citizens Service Award’ for a significant contribution to the development of Mariupol.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Greece Georgios Pukamisas also joined the congratulations with the City Day: ‘I am very happy to be in Mariupol today. I appreciate Vadim Boichenko for the invitation. I want to express my gratitude to all those people who have made a huge contribution to the development of Mariupol. It's very nice to be present in such a sunny autumn day on this holiday’.
Hundreds of Mariupol residents came to see the beauty of the Greek Square. Good mood and energy were given by creative teams that presented their performances with a nod of Greece.
